Terms of Service

1. These terms

These terms govern the moving, packing, storage and handyman services provided by MIG Movers and Packers LLC (“we”, “us”). By confirming a booking you accept them. They sit alongside the written quote we issue you, which sets out the scope and price of your specific job.

2. Quotations and pricing

• Quotes are issued in writing following a survey and are valid for 30 days.
• A quoted price is fixed for the scope described in it. It does not change on the day of the move.
• The price may only change if you add items or services after the quote is issued, or if access materially differs from what was shown at survey. Any change is confirmed with you in writing before work continues.
• All prices are exclusive of 5% VAT unless expressly stated otherwise.

3. Booking and payment

• A booking is confirmed once you accept the written quote and any agreed deposit is received.
• The balance is payable on completion of the move unless other terms are agreed in writing.
• We accept cash, credit card and bank transfer.
• Storage is invoiced monthly in advance.

4. Cancellation and rescheduling

• Cancellation more than 48 hours before the booked date: any deposit is refunded in full.
• Cancellation within 48 hours: the deposit may be retained to cover crew and vehicle allocation.
• Rescheduling is free of charge with more than 24 hours' notice, subject to availability.
• If we cannot perform the move on the agreed date for reasons within our control, we refund any deposit in full.

5. Your responsibilities

• Ensure you are legally entitled to move the goods and that all charges owed to your building are settled.
• Tell us at survey about fragile, high-value, oversized or hazardous items so they can be planned for.
• Keep passports, identity documents, jewellery, cash, medication and personal electronics with you rather than on the vehicle.
• Be present, or nominate someone who is, at both properties on the day.
• Check every room, cupboard, balcony and storage area before the vehicle departs.

6. Items we cannot move

For legal and safety reasons we cannot transport flammable or explosive materials (including gas cylinders, paint thinners, petrol and fireworks), corrosive chemicals, ammunition, illegal goods, or perishable food. Live animals and plants require separate arrangements agreed in advance.

7. Insurance and liability

• Goods-in-transit insurance is included on every move as standard.
• Full replacement-value cover is available on request and is quoted separately. We strongly recommend it for artwork, antiques, electronics and designer furniture.
• Claims must be notified within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs, so the item can be assessed.
• We are not liable for damage to items you packed yourself where the packing is the cause, for pre-existing damage, or for inherent defects such as fragile or previously repaired joints.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income arising from a delay.

8. Delays

We plan every move to complete on the booked day. We are not liable for delays outside our reasonable control, including traffic incidents, building management refusing or withdrawing access, weather events, or actions of third parties. Where a delay is within our control, we work at our cost until the job is complete.

9. Storage

• Stored goods are inventoried and photographed on intake, and a copy is provided to you.
• Storage is billed monthly in advance, with a one-week minimum term.
• Retrieval of specific items requires 48 hours' notice.
• We may withhold release of goods where storage charges are outstanding.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
